Steve has wide commercial experience at board level, having worked in and with organisations in sectors as diverse as retail, manufacturing and professional services. He started, ran and sold a £10m brokerage company and also led a management buy in to a confectionery company.

He left his role as Director in WH Smith in 2000 in order to found his specialist consultancy firm. He is one of the UK’s leading negotiation experts – so much so that he was recently asked to comment on Tesco’s negotiation approach on Panorama. He also serves as a non-executive director and mentor for a number of businesses.

Steve specialises in working with leaders that need to deliver tangible and measurable results, who describe him as “highly challenging, extremely supportive but not afraid to get his hands dirty!”

Although he believes that everyone, usually, has the answers themselves he is particularly good at helping his clients to identify those answers and to evaluate their potential choices. He doesn’t let people off the hook but his clients always feel that he is in their corner!

Steve is qualified in Psychometric testing and coaching and is a CEDR accredited Mediator as well as being an occasional lecturer at Kent Business School. Outside work he is a long-suffering Reading FC season ticket holder and plays chess for MENSA.
