So we regularly, almost weekly, come across people who have tried to sell their business through another third party and have failed. In fact, we have an initiative.

Mike Whittle:

We do.

Rob Goddard:

But only because that is quite common. People have tried it and it hasn’t worked.

Mike Whittle:

Yeah. I mean, if you look at the market statistics, it’s not a surprise that we see quite a lot of people that have been through that process and failed. And it’s expensive. It takes, as we said before, 12 months. And typically, it can cost people upwards of a 100,000 Pounds to go through the process for no outcome. So in our world, we’ve looked at that and said we think because we are selective and we have a better process and we get better outcomes, we’re prepared to for the right businesses, offer those businesses a chance to go through the process again, free of charge. What?

Mike Whittle:

My colleague here in the middle will stump the bill.

Rob Goddard:

Well, as the owner of the business, it’s my money.

Mike Whittle:

Indeed.

Rob Goddard:

Yeah.

Mike Whittle:

And we’ll take them through our process, free of charge to get them a result. Now we have to hand pick those businesses. We still have to be selective. If we see a business that fundamentally is not sellable, then we’re not going to take them back to market. There isn’t any point. We’re just wasting that client’s time. But if we found a business that was eminently sellable, that had been badly represented, we’d be prepared to back that business at our cost to take them through our process. We will clearly still take a success fee at the end when we’ve achieved the result for them. But the reason that we get better outcomes, as I said before, is because we have a well walked process that we hand turn around our client as proactively driven and we don’t leave anything to chance.

Rob Goddard:

So if your business broker is broken, we can fix it.

Mike Whittle:

That’s a terrible cheesy line, but I like it.
