EvolutionCBS Masterclass drives passion for business at Mercedes Benz World

M&A experts EvolutionCBS were joined by company owners from across the South East for a Masterclass at Mercedes Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey, addressing the complexities of selling a business. The half-day event, which aimed at being an informative, educational session for company owners, was described as a “roaring success”.

Throughout the morning expert speakers addressed a variety of topics, with Amanda Gale, Operations Director opening proceedings. Steve Barry, Senior Client Director at EvolutionCBS, followed up with insight around such matters as maximising valuation, deal structures and funding, as well as other fundamentals. Steve also addressed such questions as why companies fail to sell, earn-outs, handling negotiations, and due diligence – all expertly illustrated with anonymised anecdotes from his years of practical, hands-on experience in the M&A sector.

Kay Binns, Research Director at EvolutionCBS presented insightful thoughts and observations on market activity, acquirers and how they fund deals, plus presenting Mergers and Acquisitions data on private company sales, over recent years. Nolan John, Research and Marketing Manager with EvolutionCBS discussed the importance of identifying the ‘right acquirer’ and described the Desk Research process.

At the end of the morning’s sessions, delegates were able to meet the team to discuss their individual needs, while mingling over a buffet lunch.
